Damart, the Bingley-based home-shopping company known for its thermals, has been warming hearts in the lead up to Christmas with a schedule of internal fundraisers to support its three charity partners: The Silver Line, Breast Cancer Now and Heart Research UK.
Damart has invited elderly members of the Bingley community to a Christmas lunch on the 28th December to provide a festive outing for those who may be alone during the festive period. Guests will enjoy a Christmas lunch and will also receive a goody bag, with the lunch being assisted by Damart staff volunteers. All the money raised from the lunch will go towards The Silver Line, a national charity offering a free confidential telephone helpline to provide information, friendship and advice to older people.
This December, all Damart staff have been welcomed to participate in fundraising events including a Christmas raffle, playing tannoy bingo and wearing Christmas jumpers to get into the festive spirit. All proceeds raised will be divided equally between the three charities.
Throughout the year, Damart has continued to show support for its three main charities and has hosted activities for its staff including an afternoon tea fundraiser for The Silver Line, a Wear It Pink day for Breast Cancer Now and a charity walk for Heart Research UK.
Joanne Phipps, Employee Engagement Advisor at Damart, said: “We’re delighted that we have been able to support these three amazing charities throughout the entire year. It is fantastic to see our Damart team in Bingley continuing to show their sheer enthusiasm and generosity all year round, especially in the run up to Christmas.”
