I started in 1990 working part time in Mail and Banking. Things were very different back then, we had no call centre and the internet was not even invented.
In 1997 I applied for a job as Purchase Ledger Clerk in the accounts department and after a successful trial was offered the position. At the time most transactions were still recorded with a pen and a big ledger book.
By 2009 I had experience across few areas of finance, including the shop accounts, cash books and merchandise invoices, so I was offered the Supervisors job. I decided to give it a go and 27 years later I manage a team of four.
