Damart, the home-shopping brand, reported a 243% year-on-year increase in online sales for thermals last week, as the UK experienced widespread snow and freezing temperatures.
The retailer is famous for its thermals, with more than 50 years’ experience of leading thermal technology and textile intelligence.
This surge in web sales for Damart’s thermal category comes after years of heavy multi-channel investment by the brand to increase its online offering for an increasingly web-savvy consumer.
Claire Brown, Online Merchandise Manager, said: “The sales increase we saw online last week was particularly striking, but not surprising given the unseasonably cold temperatures across the country. Our thermals are well-loved across the UK and for many, Damart is synonymous with thermals. We’re proud that the country came to us during the cold snap, showing we’re still considered the market leader when it comes to thermal technology, which we’re hugely proud of.”
As well as thermals, the retailer is also known for its ready-to-wear collections and footwear, with a focus on women aged 55+.
