Bingley-based retailer, Damart has responded to the Ukraine crisis by sending crates of Damart clothing and products, plus donations from staff, to help the refugees.
Members of the team across Damart’s two sites pulled together to make it happen in just a few days. They dedicated their time to ensure warm clothing, hygiene products, food and other necessities were supplied for all generations, from babies to the older seniors in Poland with help from local charity Focus4Hope.
Patricia Smith from Damart said: “It has been heart-breaking to hear what is unfolding in the Ukraine and we wanted to do what we could to provide aid to those who have had to flee their homes. Within only a few days we had around 3000 Damart products, plus crates of personal donations from colleagues.”
The team at Damart were delighted to receive these pictures from Focus4Hope, who said: “We have received some lovely photos of our first vans arriving in Poland to deliver aid to those in need. Thank you to our fantastic community for your overwhelming donations.”
