Bingley-based online retailer, Damart has supported local charities and a Bingley Ukraine appeal by donating 500 items of warm clothing and blankets to help those in need this winter.
They also helped Catherham Rotary Club, who raised £3000 for warm clothing as part of their wider Ukraine appeal, make their efforts go further by donating extra thermals worth more than £1,200.
“Damart has almost 70 years of expertise in clothing that keeps people warm. We are delighted to be able to help people in our community as well as those further afield in these trying times this winter.” Says Fiona Mannion, Managing Director.
Warm and Well, a North Yorkshire based charity, works with families and individuals struggling to afford their energy bills.
Gillian Grimes, Head of Energy, said; “We provide advice and guidance to those struggling and help them to find solutions from tips and repairs to make their homes warmer, to assisting those in urgent need get access to Hardship Funds.
Donations from companies like Damart are vital in helping us provide families with packs of warm clothing and blankets which is an alternative solution to helping our clients feel warmer in their homes.”
Manchester-based charity ‘Mustard Tree’ supports people who are homeless or facing crisis, through their Community Shops, Food Clubs and training streams.
“I work with a range of companies to acquire donations and thermals from Damart sounded like the perfect offering in time for the upcoming plummeting temperatures for Mustard Tree.
Lucy Gugas, Head of Fundraising continued; “We help men, women, children and families of all ages in trying times. Being able to provide brand new clothing not only helps with keeping warm in these winter months, but also with building confidence.”
Following their first donation in August, Damart also provided further donations to a local Ukraine appeal.
