Damart has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local communities and the environment by organising a third volunteering day with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
Nine Damart colleagues, from the fashion brand’s Bingley headquarters, braved challenging weather conditions to take part in the event, which formed part of its ongoing partnership with the conservation charity.
The volunteering session was delivered as a mixed group event, with Damart colleagues working alongside other volunteers. Together, they made a significant environmental impact, planting 200 hedgerow trees, 250 trees across 10 coppices and 30 landscape trees, including riverside planting to help stabilise the riverbank.
This latest initiative builds on Damart’s wider partnership with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust through its On Seniors Side Foundation. To date, the foundation has funded two all-terrain mobility vehicles that improve access to the Dales for people with mobility issues, enabling more visitors to experience the landscape.
The most recent event marked Damart’s third volunteering day with the Trust. Previous sessions have included tree planting and wild meadow restoration, further demonstrating the brand’s commitment to supporting local communities and organisations.
Alyson Taggart, UK Offer and Publications Director attended the volunteer day and said: “It was a brilliant day, even with the weather against us. It felt incredibly rewarding to be part of something that helped create a natural habitat for local wildlife. Working alongside other volunteers really brought home the community spirit behind the partnership.”
