Hello, my name is David and I am the UK IS Service Delivery Manager. My main priority is to ensure the successful delivery of IS systems and services which are used by Damart. To achieve this I work closely with the business teams, technical teams, and project teams to ensure we think about and deliver IS services in line with the business needs for today and tomorrow.
My journey with Damart started in 2007 as a technical person supporting one platform and one application, Reflex, used by the logistics team. However, it was not long before my other technical skills were allowed to branch out into other Damart systems.
In 2013 I moved from being a technical person to being an IS technical project manager, later becoming the lead IS technical project manager.
Both of these previous roles provided good foundations when taking on the UK IS Service Delivery Manager position in 2018. The experiences have provided me with a good understanding and appreciation of both the technical side (to help understand the issues and problems), and the project management side (to help projects understand what the operational teams require to provide the ongoing support of IS systems and services).
As you can imagine, the job is as challenging as it is rewarding. Each day is different and you are never quite sure what you’re going to get.
